Terms of Service
Last updated: July 22, 2026
1. Agreement to Terms
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of SiteHalo (“SiteHalo,” “we,” “us”), including our website, dashboard, API, and the client-side monitoring snippet. By creating an account or otherwise using the service, you agree to these Terms. If you're using SiteHalo on behalf of an organization, you're confirming you have authority to bind that organization, and “you” refers to both you and it.
2. The Service
SiteHalo scans websites you add to your account across SEO, accessibility, performance, SSL, uptime, security, cookies, forms, tracking, and legal-compliance dimensions, and produces health scores and reports — some generated with the help of AI. You may optionally install our JavaScript snippet on a monitored site to collect real-visitor performance and error data. Scan frequency, number of monitored sites, and data retention depend on your subscription plan.
3. Accounts
You must provide accurate information when creating an account and keep your credentials confidential — you're responsible for activity that happens under your account. Organizations can invite members with different roles (Owner, Admin, Member, Viewer); the Owner is responsible for managing membership and billing.
4. Your Responsibilities for Monitored Sites
You may only add sites to SiteHalo that you own or are authorized to monitor and scan. Scanning a site you don't control, or without permission, is a violation of these Terms.
If you install our monitoring snippet on a site, you are the data controller for that site's visitors, and SiteHalo processes the resulting data on your behalf (see our Privacy Policy). You're responsible for disclosing your use of monitoring tools in your own privacy policy and for obtaining any consent required under laws that apply to your site and its visitors (e.g. GDPR, CCPA, or cookie-consent requirements) — SiteHalo does not do this for you.
5. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Add or scan a site without authorization to do so.
- Use SiteHalo's scanning infrastructure to attack, overload, or probe third-party systems.
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, resell, or white-label the service beyond what your plan permits.
- Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the service.
- Use the service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable law.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate this section.
6. Subscriptions, Billing & Trials
Paid plans (Starter, Pro, Agency, and custom Enterprise) are billed monthly through Stripe and renew automatically until canceled. New accounts get a 14-day free trial — no credit card required — with full access to the features of the selected plan; if you don't subscribe by the end of the trial, your account simply stops scanning and no charge occurs.
You can cancel anytime from your billing settings; cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period and you retain access until then. We don't provide partial-period refunds except where required by law or at our discretion. We may change plan pricing with reasonable advance notice; changes apply to your next billing cycle.
7. AI-Generated Content & Scan Limitations
Report narratives may be generated with the assistance of AI (OpenAI), based on automated scan results. Scores, issues, and recommendations — including those under the “Legal” and “Accessibility” dimensions — are informational and generated by automated heuristics. They are not legal advice, do not constitute a certification of compliance with any law or standard (including WCAG, ADA, or GDPR), and should not be relied on as your sole basis for compliance decisions. Automated scans cannot catch every issue; we don't guarantee completeness or accuracy of any scan, score, or report.
8. Intellectual Property
SiteHalo and its underlying software, design, and branding are owned by us. You retain all rights to your own website content and data. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the service for your internal business purposes while your subscription is active.
9. Third-Party Services
SiteHalo relies on third-party providers — including Stripe for payments, Resend for email delivery, OpenAI for AI-generated content, and Neon and Vercel for hosting. We aren't responsible for outages or failures caused by these providers, though we'll work to minimize their impact on you.
10. Service Availability
We aim for high availability but don't guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service, and scheduled or unscheduled downtime may occur. We don't offer an uptime SLA except where separately agreed in an Enterprise contract.
11. Disclaimer of Warranties
The service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement, to the fullest extent permitted by law.
12. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, SiteHalo won't be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, or data, arising from your use of the service. Our total liability for any claim arising from these Terms or the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose.
13. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold SiteHalo harmless from claims arising out of your use of the service in violation of these Terms — including scanning a site without authorization or failing to meet your obligations under Section 4.
14. Termination
You may stop using SiteHalo and cancel your subscription at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you materially breach these Terms, fail to pay applicable fees, or misuse the service. Upon termination, your right to access the service ends; we'll retain or delete your data consistent with our Privacy Policy.
15. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which SiteHalo operates, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except where local law requires otherwise.
16. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms as SiteHalo evolves. We'll update the “Last updated” date above and, for material changes, make reasonable efforts to notify account holders by email. Continued use of the service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
